“Here is a picture of my entire setup for most gigs that I do.”

“My first set of “pro” cymbals were K’s. I’ve been an endorser for over 20 years, and I’m honored to be a part of the Z family. Basically, I use a wide variety of Zildjian sounds depending on the style of music I play. But, here are my choices for my setup.”

Rides

“I have been working with Zildjian cymbal smith Paul Francis on a 21” Prototype Ride that is really special. I use it on everything! Check out the video below to hear it!”

“I also LOVE the 21” Armand Ride for a more washy, open sound, for a Vintage 60’s Jazz or Rock vibe.”

High Hats

“I have been using 13” Master Sound hats in Brilliant finish since they came out. They are my “Go To” Hats. I also have a set of 14” Armand Hats, and working on 15” Prototype Hats to match my 21” Ride.”

Crashes

“Well, I am also working on a some crashes to go with the Ride, but in general, I have been using 18” K Dark Crash Ride on my left side, a 16 or 17” K Custom Dark Crash to the right of my Ride, a 12” K Splash Brilliant about the left tom, and an A Custom EFX Crash with a 10” Splash on top, about the right tom.”

“Like so many others, I played Ludwig drums as a kid. I have a ’69, Psychedelic Red 4 piece (see below). Ringo being my idol, I gravitated towards those drums, and love the fat, warm sound they produce. Today, Ludwig Drums takes me into future, with a nod to the past. Outstanding quality, and the finishes are superb. The great Ludwig Sound is what I love. I use a Classic Maple Set with a Sunset Diamond Pearl wrap. The sizes are: 18 X 20” Bass Drum, 9X10, 9X12 Rack toms, 14X14 Floor Tom, 16” Floor Tom, 5.5 X 14 Snare Drum. I also have a 100th Anniversary Superphonic Snare that I use on sessions.”

“I am excited to be playing the best sticks being made today. ProMark has revamped and retooled their entire line, and I’m proud to endorse their sticks and brushes. The outstanding team at ProMark supports me in everyway, and I appreciate that. It’s a family. I currently use the 747 Model with a Nylon Tip. It feels great to me. We are also working on a prototype stick design.”

“After hearing so much about Evans drumheads from my fellow drummers, I decided to try them, and I haven’t looked back! I love the sound of the G2 coated series on the toms, and the eMAD on the bass drum gives me the punch and low end I am looking for in my sound. On the bottom, I use Clear G1’s.”
